πŸ›« Points, Miles and Deals

πŸ’Έ Robinhood Card = 3% Cash Back on Everything

The new Robinhood Gold Card will offer 3% cash back on all purchases, with no limit. It's definitely forcing me to reconsider the value of points (especially when you can buy them on sale with your cash back). The card will require a $50 annual Robinhood Gold subscription, but that also includes some other perks, like increased APY, a 1% bonus on deposits, and a 3% match on IRA contributions/transfers. You can sign up for the waitlist for the card here.

πŸ›’ 10% off Target Gift Cards on April 13th

April 7-13 is “Target Circle Week” and Target is offering 20-30% off a lot of their product categories. However, on April 13th, you can get 10% off Target Gift cards, which work on any product at the store. So if you do any amount of regular Target shopping, this is a great way to save 10% on all of it this year.

πŸ” 30% Transfer Bonus from Capital One to Virgin

Right now, there's a 30% bonus when transferring points from Capital One to Virgin Red through 4/30/24. Even though the bonus directly goes to your Virgin Red, you can link it to your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account and use the points interchangeably.

πŸ›« April 2024 Flying Blue Promo Rewards

Air France’s Flying Blue Promo Rewards just announced their April 2024 reward list with some pretty great options for economy class seats to Europe from Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, DC for just 15,000 miles. These offers are only valid for bookings made between 4/1 and 4/30 and valid for travel until 9/30.

🍽️ No More Restaurant Access with Priority Pass

Last week we had the final major credit card issuer announce that they are removed Priority Pass' restaurant benefits, which means that if your premium credit card offers a Priority Pass membership, you'll likely only be able to use it for airport lounges. You can find a list of the few cards that still this have restaurant benefits (at least for now) here.

πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦ Global Entry is Now Free for Kids

Global Entry is amazing for skipping the immigration lines when re-entering the US, but right now, kids need their own paid membership. However, starting in October, kids under 18 will be free if their parents have Global Entry. The price is also going up $20 in October, so now might be your time to apply. Just don't forget that these 39 credit cards reimburse the cost of Global Entry.

Also, if you're struggling to find an interview appointment, check out AppointmentScanner, which we used to get one the same week.

πŸ’ͺ Reverse Aging and Live Longer with Bryan Johnson

This week I interviewed Bryan Johnson (Ep #165), the world’s most measured man, to talk about his $2M longevity project, Blueprint. We discuss different ways you can utilize the power of sleep, food, supplements, and fitness to help reverse the aging process and achieve optimal health.

Blueprint also launched their protocol to the public this week. I've been taking the stack for the past month and I'm looking forward to sharing my review after 90 days (and after I've rechecked my biomarkers).

πŸ“Ί Show Recommendation: Tokyo Vice

I just finished watching Tokyo Vice, which is about an American reporter working in Japan and covering the organized crime beat. The show is adapted from Jake Adelstein's firsthand memoir and I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Nick Gray's Tokyo Tips and Tricks

Speaking of Tokyo, I loved reading Nick's X/Twitter thread about the city, which was packed with some greats tips and hacks for getting around. And if you want to go deeper on planning an amazing Japan trip, check out my travel guide or listen to my episode on the topic.

πŸ’° How to Earn Points Paying Taxes with a Credit Card

It might sound crazy, but there are actually so many ways to earn points (or make profit) by using a credit card to pay your taxes. The IRS has three authorized payment providers that charge as little as 1.82% for using a credit card. I talk about all the different options available to help you evaluate whether it’s worth paying taxes on your credit card in episode #164, so make sure to check it out.

🧰 The Tim Ferriss Experiment

Tim Ferriss created a fun show back in 2013, where he worked with a world-class expert to learn a difficult skill in under a week. He tackles things like playing the drums, speaking filipino and learning to golf. After a lot of work, he secured the rights to release the show on YouTube, for free.

🧠 Extreme Brainstorming Questions

If you're trying to ideate on some new business ideas, I really enjoyed this list of questions that might help you get your creative juices flowing. For example, one prompt is "If you were forced to increase your prices by 10x, what would you have to do to justify it?".
