🛫 Travel, Points & Miles

💳 300,000 Miles - Biggest Welcome Offer I’ve Seen!

For a limited time, Capital One Venture X Business allows you to earn up to 300,000 Capital One miles in two parts:

  1. 150,000 miles after spending $20,000 within the first 3 months
  2. Additional 150,000 miles after spending $100,000 within 6 months

This is easily one of my favorite business cards because it earns 2x miles on every purchase, which means if you spend the full $100,000, you would end up with 500,000 total miles, which would have been an effective 5x miles on that spend. But even if you can only spend $20,000, you'd end up with 190,000 miles, which is an effective 9.5x miles on all that spend.

🤑 Capital One® Spark® Cash Plus $3,000 Welcome Bonus

Similarly, you can earn up to $3,000 as a limited-time welcome bonus from the Capital One® Spark® Cash Plus:

  1. $1,500 cash back after spending $20,000 in the first 3 months
  2. Another $1,500 after spending $100,000 within 6 months

However, if you already have the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, you can transfer your cash back earned from the Spark Cash Plus into miles at a rate of 1¢ = 1 mile, meaning this bonus has the flexibility of earning transferrable points AND cash back.

💳 Southwest Companion Pass For a Year

I've written about how timing a few credit card welcome bonuses can help you quickly get to the 135,000 points needed for Southwest Companion Pass, but now, it's even easier, because there are three new welcome offers that include free companion pass through 2/28/25. You can learn more about those offers here, here or here. If you're not familiar with Companion Pass on Southwest, it lets you nominate someone to fly free (except taxes) any time you buy a ticket (even when you use your miles).

🛫 Changes to Delta Cards

Delta and Amex have rolled out some changes to their cards, resulting in some new perks, larger welcome bonuses, and higher annual fees. If you're a regular Delta flyer, I think the changes to the Platinum card are the most appealing, but take a look.

If you want a deeper analysis, this article from Frequent Miler includes a full breakdown of all the changes.

🇹🇷 Big Turkish Miles Devaluation Next Week

Turkish Air's Miles & Smiles program is one of my favorite programs for booking business class awards, but it looks like you're going to need as much as 80% more miles to book your awards starting 2/15. So you have about a week to transfer Capital One, Bilt Rewards or Citi points to take advantage of their incredible business class pricing (all one-way):

  • Europe: 45,000
  • Middle East: 47,000
  • Central Asia: 52,500 (e.g. India, Nepal, etc.)
  • Within the US: 12,500 (includes Alaska/Hawaii)

Just make sure you confirm availability before transferring.

📝 My 10-Step Guide to Finding, Onboarding, and Empowering Your Assistant

In this week's episode (#155) with Sam Corcos, we talked about mastering delegation and leveraging virtual assistants to scale yourself. I hired my assistant Pasini through Oceans last year and it's added so much value to my work, and even my life. I've also worked closely with the Oceans team to write this 10-Step Guide to Finding, Onboarding, and Empowering Your Assistant. I hope it can help you unlock as much time and value as it has for me. And if you end up wanting to hire an assistant, definitely check out Oceans and mention All the Hacks to get $1,000 off your first month.

🧘 Sahil Bloom's 33 Life Learnings from 33 Years

My friend Sahil celebrated his 33rd birthday last month, and shared a list of 33 learnings from his personal journey, encompassing growth, failures, and missteps. I really enjoyed his reflections.

📗 Start A Million Dollar Business in 48 Hours

Last week, Noah Kagan (Ep #154) shared some amazing tips to start a 7-figure business in just 48 hours. He also launched his book Million Dollar Weekend, which is already an NYT Bestseller, and includes all his learnings and insights from building eight million dollar businesses. 🎧 How to Prevent & Treat Colds & Flu

I recently listened to this episode of Huberman Lab about all the different ways we can enhance our immune system function to better combat colds and flu (an especially relevant topic for parents of young kids). He covers behavior, nutrition, supplements, preventative treatments, exercise and more. He also discussed how sauna can increase your immunity, so I'm excited to keep using our Haven Sauna!

📝 Create Better Habits in 2024

I can't believe we're already more than a month into 2024. If you're interested in building better habits this year, I enjoyed this article from Ryan Holiday.

📑 Easy Money from Howard Marks

Howard Marks's memos are among my favorite regular reads, but this one (Easy Money) was particularly interesting. If you're curious about the impacts of prolonged periods of low interest rates on the economy, financial markets, and investment behavior, I think you'll enjoy it. Just know it's 8,000+ words, so you'll need to set aside a bit of time.
